WorldFlight is an annual charity event, first started by a team in the UK 8 years ago. The WorldFlight USA team completed their first successful event in 2006, raising donations for the ORBIS Flying Eye Hospital. 7 teams from around the globe participated in WorldFlight 2008, raising over USD 45,000 for worthy charities.
WorldFlight teams "fly" flight simulators that range in sophistication from partial airliner replicas in a home basement
to fully enclosed, full-motion platforms. All the simulators are based
around the $60 Microsoft Flight Simulator software. Each team has spent
many thousands of hours and dollars in building a realistic cockipt
environment around this software platform. |
